The challenge was laid out before us. Convert the standard transmission into a six speed. We had to maintain driveablilty, and even more importantly stress durability. Nothing could be compromised. Prototype after prototype, test after test, eventually the perfect material, form and arrangement passed the last precision checks and stage tests. Finally, after clearing the Engineers last word, the 6 speed transmission was complete. Some parts must be replaced depending on the model year.
